Under the hood, the CX-90 introduces two advanced powertrains designed to meet a variety of lifestyle needs. The standard e-Skyactiv G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo engine is paired with a 48-volt M-Hybrid Boost system, generating up to 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque when using premium fuel. It’s the most powerful mass-production engine Mazda has ever developed. 

The mild-hybrid system delivers electric assistance during low-speed acceleration and helps optimize efficiency during coasting and braking — all while maintaining a smooth, responsive drive. 

Drivers looking for more electrified flexibility will appreciate the available plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option. It combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, electric motor, and a 17.8 kWh battery to deliver a combined output of 323 horsepower. With the PHEV’s electric-only range, you can complete short commutes without using a drop of fuel. 

Both powertrains come standard with Mazda’s i-Activ AWD® system and an all-new rear-biased platform that enhances balance, handling, and driver control. 

Striking Exterior Design That Commands Attention 

Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy — the art of “Soul of Motion” — is clearly embodied in the CX-90’s exterior styling. From its long wheelbase to the muscular fender lines and tapered roofline, the CX-90 presents a commanding yet refined profile. 

Signature exterior touches include available 21-inch machine-cut wheels, LED lighting front and rear, and the new Artisan Red Premium paint color, specially crafted to deepen and shift in tone under different lighting conditions.
