We can’t stress enough the importance of routine service at Woodhouse Mazda. However, it’s still important that you keep an eye on your vehicle between appointments, and there are even some Mazda car maintenance tasks you can complete yourself. Read on to learn more.
Check Your Engine Oil
Even with routine oil changes, you still want to keep an eye on your engine oil level to make sure that it doesn’t ever get too low.
To check your engine oil:
- Turn your vehicle off and pop the hood
- Locate the dipstick and remove it
- Wipe off any excess oil
- Insert it back in and push it all the way in
- Remove it again to see where your oil level is
Inspect Your Tires
It’s important to keep an eye on your tires to make sure they can provide the traction you need. Visually inspect your tires regularly, looking for low tire pressure, excessive wear, or low tread. Keep in mind, the cold weather can affect your tire pressure, so you want to take that into account.
Add Windshield Wiper Fluid
Have you gotten a warning for low windshield wiper fluid? This is something that you can quickly refill yourself. You don’t want to wait, since oftentimes fluid is crucial to clear your windshield so you can see properly.
Wash Your Vehicle
Keeping your vehicle clean is an important part of its maintenance. Your exterior can actually be compromised if it’s left dirty for too long. You also want to routinely clean your cabin to keep the air clean and safe to breathe.
